Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

JudoMaster is a mobile application developed by WM Line. It is a judo companion app providing technique references, a quiz system, training timers, and randori scoring tools.

2. Data we collect

Free version: no account is required and we do not collect any information that identifies you. Specifically:

• No account or registration is required to use the free version of the app.
• No name, email address, phone number, or any other information that could identify you is collected by JudoMaster.
• No usage analytics or crash reporting data is sent to our servers.
• The app never asks for access to your location. Ads may, however, be adapted to your country, which Google infers from your IP address (see section 6).

Premium version: if you unlock the Premium version (a one-time purchase, no subscription), you can choose to register with your email address to take part in the online leaderboards ("hall of fame"). If you do:

• Your email address is stored on our servers. It is used to link your best quiz scores so they can be saved and restored (for example after reinstalling the app or switching to a new phone) and, exceptionally, to inform you of an important event affecting the service (maintenance, outage). Apart from the emails you trigger yourself (registration confirmation, account recovery), this is the only reason we will ever write to you. It is never shown to other users within the app.
• You may also provide your country and your club, optionally — changeable or removable at any time from within the app — used only to display and rank your best scores in the online leaderboards.
• We never use this data for marketing purposes, and your email address is never shared with third parties.
• If you provide your country and club, they — along with your best scores — may be shown publicly in the online leaderboards.

Premium purchase: the purchase, a one-time payment with no subscription, is made through Apple's App Store or the Google Play Store. To verify and restore your purchase, the app uses the RevenueCat service, which receives an anonymous identifier generated by the app along with the transaction details provided by the store (product purchased, date, store country). JudoMaster never sends it your name or email address. If you register for the online leaderboards, the app also sends this anonymous identifier to our servers, which keep it with your account. It is used only to check with RevenueCat that your account does come with a purchase of the Premium version, so as to prevent accounts from being created without a purchase. Our servers only look up the status of the purchase (made or not): they never send RevenueCat your email address or any other information about you.

3. Data stored only on your device

Whether you use the free or Premium version, JudoMaster stores the following data locally on your device only, using an on-device SQLite database:

• Your quiz progress, belt unlocks, and best scores.
• Your training session history, personal templates, and statistics.
• Your unlocked badges and achievements.
• Your in-app preferences (language, settings).

This data never leaves your device, with two exceptions: your best quiz scores — and, where applicable, your country and club — if you have unlocked the Premium version and chosen to register (see section 2); and, temporarily, if you use the optional Premium backup feature to switch to a new phone (see section 4). Outside of these two cases, it is not backed up anywhere else and is not accessible to WM Line or any third party.

Apple Health and Apple Watch (iPhone, optional). If you turn on the "Apple Health & Apple Watch" option in the app's Settings and allow it in the Health app, JudoMaster opens its Apple Watch app when you start a training session and saves each completed session to the Health app as a workout (duration, active calories and heart rate measured by the watch). To do so, the app asks for permission to save workouts and to read your heart rate and active calories. This data is managed by Apple Health on your devices: JudoMaster never sends it to its servers or to third parties, does not use it for advertising and does not include it in the Premium backup. You can turn the option off in the app's Settings and revoke access at any time in the Health app (Profile → Apps → JudoMaster); workouts already saved remain in Health, where you can delete them.

4. Recovering your scores and backing up your data (Premium)

If you have unlocked the Premium version and chosen to register to share your scores on the online leaderboards, your best quiz scores are also saved on our servers, linked to your email address, together with your country and club if you have provided them. If you reinstall JudoMaster or start using it on a new phone and identify yourself with the same email, only your best quiz scores — along with your country and club, where applicable — will be restored.

By default, all other data — training session history, statistics, badges, and preferences — is stored only on your device, whether you use the free or Premium version. Without action on your part, it cannot be recovered and will need to be rebuilt from scratch after an uninstall or a change of phone.

If you have unlocked the Premium version, you can use an optional backup feature to transfer this data to a new phone. If you choose to use it, a backup of your data is kept on our servers only for as long as needed to complete the transfer: it is never used by our services for any other purpose, and it is automatically deleted once the phone change is complete.

5. Internet connectivity

JudoMaster does not require an internet connection for most features — the app works fully offline. An internet connection is needed for:

• Displaying advertisements (see section 6).
• Streaming the video content available in the Techniques and Exercises galleries (see section 9).
• With the Premium version, saving and restoring your best quiz scores and taking part in the online leaderboards (see sections 4 and 9).
• With the Premium version, using the optional backup feature to switch to a new phone (see section 4).

6. Advertising

The free version of JudoMaster displays ads provided by Google AdMob. These ads are non-personalized: they are not selected based on your profile, your interests, or your activity in other apps or websites. They may be adapted to the context: the app's topic (sport, judo), language and country. JudoMaster does not ask for permission to track your activity across other apps.

To serve ads, limit repetition, measure delivery and prevent fraud, Google and its advertising partners may collect certain technical information (device type, operating system, IP address, the device's advertising identifier) and store or access information on your device. This is governed by Google's privacy policy, available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: on first launch, a consent form provided by Google lets you accept, refuse, or choose precisely which purposes and advertising partners you allow. If you refuse, the app remains fully usable; only the display of ads may be limited or removed.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from within the app: Settings › Manage ad choices.

Premium version: no ads are displayed and no ad requests are sent to Google AdMob.

7. Children's privacy

JudoMaster is intended for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under 13. The free version requires no account, and optional registration for the online leaderboards (Premium version) is reserved for users aged 13 and over. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us (see section 11) and we will delete it.

8. Data retention and deletion

Data stored locally on your device is deleted as soon as you uninstall JudoMaster. If you have unlocked the Premium version and chosen to register to share your scores on the online leaderboards, your email address, best quiz scores, and — where applicable — your country and club are also stored on our servers, along with the anonymous identifier of your Premium purchase and the result of its verification; you can request their deletion at any time by contacting us (see section 11). If you use the Premium backup feature to switch to a new phone, the temporary backup of your data is automatically deleted from our servers once the transfer is complete (see section 4).

9. Availability of online services (Premium)

Some Premium features rely on online services hosted by WM Line or by third-party providers: streaming the videos in the Techniques and Exercises galleries, and saving, restoring, and sharing your best scores in the online leaderboards ("hall of fame").

WM Line expressly reserves the right, at its sole discretion, at any time and without prior notice or justification, to restrict, suspend, interrupt, or permanently discontinue some or all of these online services — including access to the videos, access to the online leaderboards, and the saving and sharing of scores with the "hall of fame". This decision may be made for any reason, for example (non-exhaustive list): maintenance operations, technical constraints or incidents, security requirements, changes to the app, hosting and streaming costs, the economic viability of the service, the end of a relationship with a third-party provider (host, video streaming provider, etc.), a legal or regulatory obligation, or the discontinuation of the app.

These online services are provided "as is" and subject to availability, with no guarantee of continuity, availability, restoration time, or level of performance. WM Line may, without being obliged to, notify you of a planned interruption or shutdown by any appropriate means (an app update, an in-app message, or a notice on this page). No interruption, whatever its duration or cause, gives rise to any refund, credit, indemnity, or compensation.

The Premium version is obtained through a one-time purchase: there is no subscription. This purchase permanently unlocks all of the app's Premium features, which remain available regardless of the availability of the online services: access to every quiz, no usage limits, ready-made training sessions, the full card collection, additional module content, and so on. Only the online services described in this section — video streaming and access to the online leaderboards ("hall of fame") together with score sharing — may be limited, suspended, or discontinued.

The Premium purchase covers the Premium features as available at any given time, not a fixed list of online services. By making this purchase, you acknowledge and accept that the limitation, interruption, or discontinuation of some or all of the online services does not constitute a breach on our part and does not give rise to any refund, in whole or in part, or to any indemnity or compensation.

The Premium version is purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store; any refund request is handled exclusively under the terms and conditions of those platforms.

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
