1. Publisher and acceptance of the terms

The JudoMaster mobile app, this website, and the associated services are published and developed by an independent developer operating under the name "WM Line" ("WM Line" or "the publisher").

The Premium online services (video streaming, online leaderboards) are hosted by WM Line and/or by third-party providers.

Downloading, installing, or using the app, as well as browsing the website, constitutes full and unreserved acceptance of these terms of use. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the app or the website.

2. Purpose

These terms set out how the app and the website are made available, as well as the rights and obligations of WM Line and of the user. They apply to both the free version and the Premium version.

3. Description of the service

JudoMaster is a companion app for judo practice. It provides, among other things, technique references, a quiz system, randori timers, training sessions, statistics, badges, and a card collection.

The free version works fully offline, with no account, and is funded by advertising. The Premium version, obtained through a one-time purchase, permanently unlocks all of the Premium features (access to every quiz, no usage limits, ready-made training sessions, the full card collection, additional content, and so on).

Some features require an internet connection: displaying advertisements, streaming the videos in the Techniques and Exercises galleries, and — for the Premium version — saving, restoring, and sharing your best quiz scores in the online leaderboards.

4. Access to the service and requirements

Access to the app requires a compatible mobile device, an up-to-date operating system, and, for the relevant features, an internet connection. The equipment, software, and electronic communication costs needed to use the service remain the user's responsibility.

WM Line may release updates to the app. Some updates may be necessary for the service to function properly; failing to install an update may result in some or all features becoming unavailable.

5. Free version and advertising

The free version displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. These ads are non-personalized. Any technical information collected in this context is described in the Privacy Policy.

WM Line may at any time change the format, placement, or frequency of the ads, as well as the ad networks used.

6. Premium version: one-time purchase, price, and payment

The Premium version is offered as a single in-app purchase. It is not a subscription: no recurring charge is made and the purchase does not need to be renewed.

The applicable price is the one displayed, inclusive of tax, in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store at the time of purchase. The order, the collection of payment, and the issuing of the invoice are handled by Apple or Google, depending on the platform used, in accordance with their own terms and conditions.

The purchase is linked to the user's Apple or Google account. Restoring it on another device is done through the relevant platform's purchase-restore function.

The Premium version gives access to the Premium features and modules available in the app on the date of purchase, as well as to their subsequent updates (for example, new card collections or new predefined training sessions). However, new additional modules may be added to the app in the future and require a separate purchase; they are not included in a Premium version already purchased.

7. Right of withdrawal

The Premium version is digital content supplied without a physical medium. Where its performance begins immediately after purchase, with your express consent and your express acknowledgment that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, that right can no longer be exercised once the content has been unlocked, in accordance with Article L. 221-28 of the French Consumer Code.

In any event, refund requests relating to a purchase made through the App Store or the Google Play Store are handled exclusively by the relevant platform, under its own rules.

8. Availability of online services

The online services — streaming the videos in the Techniques and Exercises galleries, and saving, restoring, and sharing your best scores in the online leaderboards ("hall of fame") — are provided "as is" and subject to availability, with no guarantee of continuity or level of performance.

WM Line expressly reserves the right, at its sole discretion, at any time and without prior notice or justification, to restrict, suspend, interrupt, or permanently discontinue some or all of these online services, for any reason whatsoever (maintenance, technical constraints, security, hosting and streaming costs, economic viability, the end of a relationship with a provider, a legal obligation, the discontinuation of the app, and so on).

The app's core features — Belt Quiz, Knowledge Quiz, Randori, training sessions, and the Card Collection — remain fully active and work independently of these online services, including with the Premium version. The limitation, interruption, or discontinuation of some or all of the online services therefore does not constitute a breach by WM Line and does not give rise to any refund, in whole or in part, or to any indemnity or compensation. These provisions supplement section 9 of the Privacy Policy.

9. Online leaderboards ("hall of fame")

Participation in the online leaderboards is reserved for the Premium version and requires your best quiz scores to be saved on WM Line's servers. The user may choose to provide a country and a club, which are then displayed publicly next to their scores.

The user undertakes not to distort the leaderboards, in particular by exploiting a vulnerability, an automated tool, or any other circumvention method, and not to enter misleading, insulting, defamatory information or information that infringes the rights of third parties.

WM Line may, at any time, moderate, correct, reset, or delete an entry or a leaderboard, exclude a user from the leaderboards, or discontinue this feature, without this giving rise to any compensation.

10. Intellectual property

The app, the website, their code, their visual design, their texts, illustrations, videos, technique descriptions, quizzes, cards, and databases, as well as the "JudoMaster" name and logo, are protected by intellectual property law and remain the exclusive property of WM Line or its partners.

WM Line grants the user a personal, non-exclusive, non-assignable, and non-transferable right of use, limited to the normal use of the app for the user's own needs.

The following are prohibited, save for statutory exceptions: reproducing, representing, distributing, or making available all or part of the content; extracting or reusing a substantial part of the databases; decompiling, reverse-engineering, or modifying the app; circumventing technical protection measures; any unauthorized commercial use.

11. User conduct

The user undertakes to use the app and the website in accordance with the law, public order, and these terms. In particular, the user must not undermine the security or integrity of the service, access it by unauthorized automated means, disrupt its operation, or use it for fraudulent purposes.

12. Disclaimer: judo practice and health

JudoMaster's content (technique references, videos, quizzes, training sessions, timers) is provided for informational and educational purposes. It in no way replaces teaching by a qualified instructor or the supervision of an affiliated club.

Judo and any physical activity carry a risk of injury. Before starting or resuming a sporting activity, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional. The user practices under their sole responsibility and, where applicable, that of their club and instructor.

Randori timers and session-management tools are aids and do not replace the vigilance, refereeing, and responsibility of the people supervising the practice.

13. Warranties and liability

The app and the website are provided "as is", with no warranty that their operation will be uninterrupted or error-free, and with no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of the technique content and the quizzes.

Nothing in these terms deprives the consumer user of the rights guaranteed by law, in particular the statutory warranty of conformity, nor releases WM Line from liability where the law does not allow it to be excluded. Subject to the above and to the extent permitted by law, WM Line cannot be held liable for indirect damages, nor for damages resulting from improper use of the app, from the loss of data stored locally on the device, or from the unavailability of the online services or of third-party services.

The user is solely responsible for backing up their data. It is recalled that most of the app's data is stored only on the device and is lost if the app is uninstalled or the device is changed (see the Privacy Policy).

14. Changes, maintenance, and interruptions

WM Line may develop the app and the website, add, change, or remove features, and carry out maintenance operations that may cause a temporary interruption of the service. WM Line endeavors to limit such interruptions but does not guarantee any particular level of availability.

15. Personal data

The processing of personal data in connection with the use of the app and the website is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

16. Third-party services and platforms

The app relies on services provided by third parties, in particular the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store, Google AdMob, the website host, and the video streaming providers. Use of these services is subject to the terms and privacy policies of each of these third parties, over which WM Line has no control.

17. Suspension and termination

In the event that the user breaches these terms, WM Line may, after notice by any useful means where possible, restrict or suspend access to some or all of the service, in particular the online services and the leaderboards.

WM Line also reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice where the situation so requires, to deactivate or suspend a user's online account (including a Premium account), temporarily or permanently, where suspicious activity or activity that does not comply with these terms is detected or reasonably suspected, in particular: cheating or manipulation of scores, use of a vulnerability or an automated tool, creation of multiple accounts to distort the leaderboards, or a nickname, country, club or other information that is offensive, insulting, discriminatory, misleading, or that infringes the rights of third parties.

In such a case, WM Line may also modify, reset, or delete the nickname and the associated entries and scores, and require the user to choose a different nickname. Deactivating an online account does not entitle the user to any refund or compensation. The Premium features that operate locally on the device and were unlocked by the one-time purchase (see section 6) remain available.

The user may stop using the app and the website at any time and, if they wish, uninstall the app. Uninstalling deletes the data stored locally on the device. Deletion of the data kept on the servers (Premium version) may be requested under the conditions set out in the Privacy Policy.

18. Changes to the terms

WM Line may change these terms at any time, in particular to adapt them to changes in the app, its features, or the applicable regulations. The applicable version is the one in force and published on this page at the time of use. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. Continuing to use the app or the website after a new version has been published constitutes acceptance of it.

19. AI-generated or AI-assisted content

Some content in the app and on the website — in particular illustrations, artwork, and collectible-card elements — may have been created or reworked using generative artificial intelligence tools. Such content is selected, reviewed, and approved by WM Line before it is included.

WM Line takes care to ensure that this content does not infringe the rights of third parties. If you believe that a piece of content infringes a right you hold, you can report it to contact@wmline.net: the content will be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed or replaced.

20. Governing law, mediation, and disputes

These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory protective provisions applicable in the country of residence of the consumer user.

In the event of a dispute, the user is invited to contact WM Line in order to seek an amicable solution. In accordance with Articles L. 611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, a consumer may use a consumer mediator free of charge to seek an amicable resolution of the dispute.

Failing an amicable resolution, the dispute will be brought before the courts having jurisdiction under the applicable law.
